My Story
I have participated in gymnastics since I was 5 years old. I started competing at the age of 8 and I am now a Senior at West Springfield High school. I am working towards  my 4 th year as a level 10, and I am looking forward to perfecting my current skills and adding these level E skills back into my routines after injury setbacks and elective ankle surgery. In 2021, I was the third place Eastern Champion and the Regional Champion for ALL age groups as a level 9.  I also had the 5th highest AA score in the country. I am continuing to work hard on my comeback and have no doubt I will be including  some of, if not all, these E skills next season.  I have so  much passion and respect for the sport for me to let any injury stop me from my dreams of participating and competing at the collegiate level. In fact, I sacrificed my junior year to have electively surgery on my ankle to develop more strength to enhance my collegiate opportunities . My goal is also  to make the region 7 traveling team. I love the team dynamic shown at the collegiate gymnastic level and would love to be a part of that ! I always strive to perform a personal best every meet not only for myself but more importantly for my team.
Outside of gymnastics, I enjoy doing community service. This summer I plan to volunteer at youth camps and participate in other church related youth missions. I enjoy working with kids and also want to volunteer for my gym's summer classes. In between all of these activities, I plan to volunteer at a local rescue shelter.
In my spare time I enjoy doing arts and crafts, going to the beach, watching college gymnastics , youth group activities and spending time with my family and friends.
Currently, I am interested in majoring in Nutrition and dietetics. This major is important to me because, as an athlete,  I feel it's overlooked when it comes to athletes and how to fuel and prepare for the season. This line of work hits close to home because I had a brief nutritional setback and I think it's truly important for athletes to have the information to help maintain strength and heath throughout their careers.  I truly believe in Capital’s moto, STRONG BODY, STRONG MIND, STRONG SELF.  If we don’t take proper care of ourselves, then we are not competing at our fullest potential.
