I started playing volleyball at a young age. Growing up there was always a volleyball around the house. I started playing club volleyball as a 5th grader at a local club in Knoxville, Iowa. I started as a libero. The following season I played setter in the back row and outside while in the front row. After the club season in the spring of 2018 I tried out for the USA volleyball training camp in Kansas City, Kansas. I traveled for the training camp to Spartanburg, South Carolina for a week. In the fall of 2018 I tried out for Central Iowa Select and made the 13m team which is the national team. We had a very successful season getting third at regionals and earning a bid to nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2019 I made the Iowa HP team that competed in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. We won the Bronze medal at the HP Championships and were the first Iowa team to medal in that age division. While on the team we ran a 5-1 with myself as the setter. In the fall of 2019 through March of 2020 I played for Club Ignit Select 14 Blue as the 5-1 setter but our season was cancelled because of Covid. As an 8th grader, I started every game on our highschool varsity softball team catching. I had a pretty good fielding percentage of .986. My freshmen year at Knoxville High School I was the starting 6 rotation outside hitter leading the team in kills and second on the team in digs. I was also third in state among other freshman in kills and sixth in the state in digs. Playing outside in high school was a great experience because it made me a better all around player and also sparked a drive to continue to make my sets more consistent for my hitters. I made 2nd team SCC All Conference team. The next club season I played on Club Ignit Select 15 Blue as the 5-1 setter. I also was a Varsity basketball player and started in multiple games. Being a multiple sport athlete has helped me to be organized and manage my time for school, sports and life. I also was on the Varsity track team. I played softball again my freshman year and was the starting catcher and received second team all-conference and third team all-state with a batting average of .436. This season for volleyball as a Sophomore, I am setting in the back row and hitting on the Pin (outside or right) when in the front row. As of now, I am the leading hitter, setter, serving aces and 2nd in digs. I will be playing for Club Ignit Select 16U Blue as the 5-1 Setter again this winter. I am looking forward to continuing my journey with becoming the best volleyball player, all around athlete and student that I can be.
