My Story
My name is Gavin Barber and I am a 14 year old scholar athlete located in Concord NC. I currently attend Harris Road Middle School where I play football and baseball. I also play Travel Baseball.
I am the starting first baseman and the #1 starting pitcher in 8th grade for the Harris Road Middle School Baseball team, where it is a combined team between 7th and 8th grade.
I am the starting first baseman and the #1 starting pitcher in 8th grade for the Harris Road Middle School Baseball team, where it is a combined team between 7th and 8th grade.
I was the starting Fullback/TE and Defensive Tackle for the Harris Road Middle School Football team for the fall 2021 season. This team is comprised of both 7th and 8th graders. I am currently in 8th grade.
For baseball, in a shortened COVID season, I was able to bat over .500 and pitched two complete games for shutouts for my school baseball team. For Travel Baseball, I batted .597, which included an OPS of 1.636. I managed 33 singles, 15 doubles, 4 triples and 6 HRs. This included 48 RBIs, 41 Runs Scored and 18 Stolen Bases.
Currently, I lead the conference in HRs and I am batting .615 for the season. I have zero fielding errors, both from the mound and at 1st base.
For football, we won our first game 20-0. In 6 rushing attempts, I rushed for 93 yards, inclusive of a 40 yard TD. We ended the season 7-1 where I scored TDs in 7 of the 8 games, usually multiple, while also converting 2pt conversions throughout the season.
