My Story
My passion for sports went undiscovered for years until freshman year, when I decided to join my schools field hockey team. I gained an appetite for winning and have strived for it ever since. I started as JV goalie freshman year and moved on to varsity, winning the starting goalie spot the following year as my love for the sport grew. When I step onto the field I never take my eyes off the ball, and I put every ounce of my energy into blocking it. Playing on a team has helped me obtain skills both on and off the field such as teaching me how to work harder in order to get where I want to be, and to cooperate with my teammates to win the game. I learn from my teammates every day and they learn from me, a bond that is unobtainable anywhere else. I help my teammates during each game, communicating with them and making sure we all work as one to be the best that we can be. I hope only to improve both my skills and technique as I continue playing, and continue to defend my goal. Field hockey gives me the adrenaline rush that nothing else can, and the empowering feeling of being the last defender on the field fuels my desire to win. Being the goalie pushes me to be the best version of myself that I can and has helped me to stay motivated, and I know that field hockey will always be a part of my life.
