My Story
Greetings, My name is Jayda, an 11th grade scholar-athlete who is determined to be a better athlete each and every day. My speed and agility have been key assets, and I love supporting my teammates with enthusiasm and encouragement. I focus on combining practices with strength and conditioning training, a balanced nutrition, and physical therapy to become the best athlete I can be. My top events in Track and Field are the Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100m, 200m, and 4X100 relays. Currently I have completed my dual-enrollment Applied Information Technology Program at Atlantic Technical College receiving 17 Industry Certifications including Autodesk, Networking, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and more. In addition, I earned my International Cambridge Diploma as a high school junior at Coconut Creek High School January, 2025.I have received several athletic awards, including:The 2025 Milesplit.com Miami All-City All Junior Honors (Class of 2026), The 2025 Milesplit.com Miami All-City 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention, FHSAA 3A District 14- 2nd Place Long Jump (2025), AAU Junior Olympics Track and Field 2024 (Greensboro NC), AAU District and Regional Qualifier 2024, Speed Capital South Florida Series MVP 2024, 2024 Legacy of Leaders Award, and 2024 Student Athlete Scholars Membership.Academic and Community Awards

Beyond athletics, I am a role model for Mentoring Tomorrow’s Leaders (MTL),member of the following clubs: Creek Chess Club, Caribbean Student Association, Broward County Chess Queen Ambassador, Dare to Care Community Outreach STEM Consultant, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and I mentor young girls in athletics, chess, and STEM. I have accumulated over 300 community service hours during my freshman and sophomore years. I am a member Black Girls Code - Miami Chapter, Word Camp Miami (affiliated with WordPress), IT Women, Vex Robotics, Tech Trek Summer Program with AAUW, Code Art Miami, and AIAA. In 2021, I was the Keynote Speaker for the Ted-Ed Student Talk at the Games for Change Conference and the 2021 iSummit Virtual Conference, where I spoke about how gaming positively affects mental health. Participating in various track and field teams have helped me enhance my speed and performance techniques with the support of my parents, experienced coaches, and teammates who believe in my abilities. My future goals include earning an athletic and academic scholarship to pursue a career in engineering or computer science.
